Is CELTA Right for You?

Before applying, take a few minutes to reflect on the questions below. CELTA is a highly rewarding but intensive course — being realistic now will help you succeed later.

Time Commitment & Availability

• Can I realistically commit to the full duration of the course (full-time or part-time)? 
• Am I able to prioritise CELTA over other commitments during this period? 
• Have I considered what I may need to pause (work, social life, other study)? 
• Do I have a plan if unexpected events (illness, family responsibilities) arise? 

Workload & Study Habits

• Am I prepared for a demanding workload, including lesson planning, teaching, and written assignments? 
• Can I meet multiple deadlines each week? 
• Am I comfortable working independently outside of scheduled sessions? 
• Do I have strategies to stay organised and manage my time effectively? 

Online Learning (for Online & Blended Courses)

• Do I have a reliable computer, internet connection, webcam, and headset? 
• Do I have a quiet, uninterrupted space for classes and teaching practice? 
• Am I comfortable using online platforms (e.g. video conferencing, shared documents
