Since October 2021, the German-language edition of the Jewish-explained New Testament, originally produced in the USA, has been available. It fulfills the important task of explaining the figure of Jesus of Nazareth and the early Christian scriptures decidedly from the Jewish tradition. This approach gives Christians a better understanding of their own religious founder and his actions, and shows Jewish believers that the sacred texts of Christianity have more to do with their own religion than they think.
The American biblical scholar Prof. Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, co-author of the original edition, together with the theologian Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kraus, co-editor of the German translation, discuss important textual observations and present this special Bible commentary.
In cooperation with the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation
The event will be held in English questions can be asked in German.
