 "I don't DO fashion. I AM fashion." What were women wearing when Coco Channel said these words? Just how radical was her vision and how did it reflect what was happening in the world beyond the salon? At the end of the Second World War, an aspiring architect and artist started to draw dress patterns that gave us THE NEW LOOK, or was that only Christian Dior's idealized male version of female shape and beauty? We will "visit" some current fashion exhibits in text, photos and interviews and look at society through the lens of Haute Couture. Come along to Paris and to Manhattan to the salons, the high society clients and the business of brand and luxury.
