In addition to practising your spoken English in class, this course will incorporate at least four lessons which will not take place in the classroom, but out and about in the city. The full-immersion experience in another environment gives you a much more natural and effective way to practise conversing and exploring the vocabulary necessary for different topics. Locations and ideas are chosen and agreed on together.

This advanced course will offer the opportunity to develop fluency in conversation through discussions of contemporary topics. From environmental themes to the economy, from political concerns to philosophy, we will explore present-day social trends of interest.

So far, you are getting along very well in English. However, reaching a stable C1 or even C2 level requires more precision and an understanding of how grammar shapes meaning. This course aims to strengthen your use of grammar in written and spoken interaction. Focus and repetition will enable you to proceed from your current plateau. You will learn how to broaden your language by varying lexical and grammatical structures available to you. This course is for C1 learners who are not fully confident in grammar when they speak or write in English as well as learners who need or want to become more precise.

This course gives you the chance to develop your spoken fluency, review key grammar areas and extend your active vocabulary with the help of a coursebook.

Ever feel like emails, LinkedIn posts, and websites all sound the same these days? As ChatGPT becomes part of professional communication, how do we stand out and still sound like ourselves? In this practical workshop, we will analyse and compare AI-generated and human-written texts, exploring why AI language often sounds polished yet bland. Together, we will highlight the differences and discover what makes language feel authentic, personal, and engaging. Participants will develop advanced vocabulary and functional language for expressing nuanced opinions and tone, while reflecting on what makes communication truly human.

You start at C1 level and work through the entire coursebook in two parts with guided support. Units 1–5: Topics include trends, creativity, progress, intelligence, and games. Grammar topics: future in the past, negative inversion (no sooner… than, not only….but also) wishes and regrets (if only I could…, I wish I were…), the passive, reporting verbs (assert, conclude, imply). Units 6–10: Topics include discoveries, extremes, well-being, and society. Grammar topics: three-part phrasal verbs: (switch off from, look back on, come up against) cleft sentences, relative clauses with complex relative pronouns (whereby, whose, whom), discourse markers (in any case, despite, moreover).
