Englisch: C1 Intensive Twice a Week

Unit 1-5

You start at C1 level and work through the entire coursebook in two parts with guided support.

Units 1–5: Topics include trends, creativity, progress, intelligence, and games. Grammar topics: future in the past, negative inversion (no sooner… than, not only….but also) wishes and regrets (if only I could…, I wish I were…), the passive, reporting verbs (assert, conclude, imply).

Units 6–10: Topics include discoveries, extremes, well-being, and society. Grammar topics: three-part phrasal verbs: (switch off from, look back on, come up against) cleft sentences, relative clauses with complex relative pronouns (whereby, whose, whom), discourse markers (in any case, despite, moreover).
