This course is designed to bridge the gap between levels B1 and B2. The focus is on speaking while improving fluency and vocabulary by using lively communication games and activities, short texts and stories. Discussing current topics will be incorporated in the course, with plenty of interaction with both the other participants and the teacher to create a supportive and communicative learning atmosphere.

In the B1+ courses, you’ll consolidate your B1 knowledge and start building towards B2. The focus is on helping you express yourself more fluently and naturally in a variety of everyday and personal contexts. Units 1–4: Topics: relationships, fear, the future, past events; Grammar: question forms, narrative tenses, future time expressions (ten years from now), modals of probability (might, could), verb + preposition (e.g. learn with, fight against) Units 5–8: Topics: culture, then and now, dealing with pressure, ageing; Grammar: comparing and contrasting (a bit more interesting, far more consistent, as lazy as), used to and would, zero, first and second conditionals, verb + -ing and verb + infinitive (e.g. I like reading, I plan to go to Rome) Units 9–12: Topics: obsessions, family, the environment, lifestyle; Grammar: third conditional, idioms (e.g. once in a blue moon, to feel under the weather), relative clauses

With our daily intensive courses, you can quickly progress from level B1 to B2 in just two modules. This course completes the B1 level, including the transitional B1+ stage. You will cover key topics such as relationships, travel, work, health, media, globalization, and current social issues. Grammar focuses on all major tenses, modal verbs, conditionals, the passive voice, reported speech, relative clauses, and complex sentence structures. The course also systematically builds your vocabulary and strengthens everyday communication skills. We will read the novel, The Night Manager, adapted version, level B1. You will spend 60 minutes in an online class on Zoom each week, and in between, you will participate in written online discussions and tasks with your teacher.
