B1 – Fortgeschrittene Sprachverwendung

In a relaxed, slow-paced atmosphere, you can refresh your speaking skills, learn new vocabulary, and practice up-to-date phrases in English. Come and have a conversation!

We will read a book graded for level B1 parallel to working with the course book. We read the story and discuss new words and expressions. We talk about the characters in the story. Do we like them? Why/why not? How does the story compare to the real world we live in?

Come and build your confidence! You find it hard to express yourself or perhaps you are not feeling confident when speaking in English? In this course you will have the opportunity to improve your spoken English whilst at the same time focussing on some of the tricky issues of grammar within the B1 level.

At B1 level, you will learn to express yourself more clearly and confidently in everyday situations – for example, when travelling, shopping, or talking about your hobbies and interests. Many of us like to talk about life in Munich right after World War II and in the 1950s. We probably share the same memories such as the ruins of the city we used as playgrounds, the Americans, radio shows like Familie Brandl, AFN, afternoon school, and many more. We will discuss what was then and how things have changed since. Bring your old photos of Munich to share with the class and to talk about your memories. People who did not grow up in Munich but would like to learn about how it was are also welcome.
