The aim of this course is to work on all your active skills in English and create time for plenty of practice and feedback in order to help build your confidence when using the language.

This course will prepare you for the exam, and additionally cover some language and grammar points which often present a challenge at this level. All your language skills in English will be looked at intensively, including reading, writing, listening and speaking, but in order to practise and improve these skills, you should be prepared to invest time outside lesson hours each week. To join the course your English should be very close to the level required for the exam. This online course is specifically designed to help you learn a wider range of advanced level vocabulary, phrases and expressions and aims to boost your confidence in using them actively. Weekly sessions will involve lots of speaking activities and give you plenty of opportunity to apply the language in focus. In addition to practising your spoken English in class, this course will incorporate at least four lessons which will not take place in the classroom, but out and about in the city. The full-immersion experience in another environment gives you a much more natural and effective way to practise conversing and exploring the vocabulary necessary for different topics. Locations and ideas are chosen and agreed on together.

A language immersion weekend with a focus on British culture - from mindset and manners to tea time, Brit pop and maybe a little Shakespeare! We will look at various aspects of British life and language and have fun discussing and reflecting on what it might mean to be "very British". In this course, we’ll look at all kinds of vocabulary in the context of different texts - from podcasts, articles and reviews to novels. We’ll explore meaning and use, and discuss some of the changes in how the English language is being used today, practising some of these new words and expressions in context.

This weekend course should act as a 'mini language trip', where you can explore all kinds of topics and contexts in spoken English. Immersing yourself in the language is a great way to activate your existing skills and push youself to a higher level of confidence. Similar sessions are available every few months.
