This one-day course is designed to help participants of the CELTA course by offering a brief overview of English language and terminology immediately prior to the CELTA course. The course is strongly recommended for CELTA participants. In special circumstances and after consultation with the CELTA Course Director, other teachers of English may be admitted on to this course.

CELTA, Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, is an internationally recognised initial qualification for English language teaching to adults. This is an intensive course and runs over 4 weeks, Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. It is suitable for candidates who are prepared to put their life on hold for 4 weeks (including weekends).
