Cooking in English - A Taste of California (B1)

Though better known for its exports from Hollywood and Silicon Valley, California is justly famous for its food. As the third largest and most populous American state, California’s rich soil and endless valleys produce an extraordinary array of crops -- from its wines in the North to its citrus fruits in the South. Added to this are the savory contributions from an immigrant culture over the past century and a half. After an interactive lecture about the state’s culinary history, we will use English to cook a menu representative of classic recipes to experience a taste of California. Appropriate for learners at the B1 level and above.
